LEAGUE DETAILS

DATES : Thu 6 Apr to Thu 31 Aug
EXCLUDED DATES : 18 May, 25 May, 1 Jun, 8 Jun, 15 Jun, 22 Jun, 24 Aug
DURATION : 16 weeks
TIME : Matches run between 7pm and 9pm
LOCATION : Pimlico Academy, 36 Lupus St, Pimlico, London, SW1V 3AT
ENTRANCE : Come to the main entrance of Pimlico Academy and the receptionist will let you in
MAP : Google Maps / Citymapper
COURTS : High quality indoor basketball court
LEVEL : Intermediate
GENDER : All
GAMES : 5 v 5 full court
COST – INDIVIDUAL : £12 per player per week
COST – TEAM : You can join as a full team (7 players) but to make it easy all players register and pay individually
ADDITONAL PLAYERS : If any team has less than 7 players then we may add individual players
PAYMENT : Payment is made for the full league in advance by bank transfer

MATCH DETAILS

MATCHES : All teams will play in the regular season and also in the playoffs
MATCH LENGTH : Teams will play 40 mins of matches (3 x 13 minutes, 2 x 19 mins or 1 x 40 mins)
EXTRA GAME TIME : We normally have extra practise and scrimmage time
CLOCK : Running clock
REFEREES : 1 referee + 2 player referees + 2 player scorekeepers
FREE THROWS : To increase game time the referee will award 1 point plus possession for shooting fouls instead of free throws
TEAM KIT : Bring both a plain black t-shirt and also a plain white t-shirt

OTHER DETAILS

COVID-19 SAFETY : All players must check the Covid-19 guidelines each time before playing and check for updates so we can keep everyone safe.
GENERAL SAFETY : For everyone’s safety, please cut your fingernails short before you arrive and remove all jewellery including wedding rings and bracelets, and watches and fitness trackers.
PERSONAL SAFETY : You are responsible for your personal safety and your belongings at all times.
INSURANCE : Please take out your own insurance to cover you in case of injuries, including player-to-player injuries.
REFUNDS : There are no refunds unless we cancel the event. See our refund policy here.

SPECTATORS : The Covid-19 rules for sports means strictly no spectators.

UPDATES

UPDATE ON 21 JUN : The school will be using the sports hall on 6 July and also 23-27 Aug so there will be no matches on then.
UPDATE ON 24 APR : Just a reminder that the sports hall at Pimlico Academy will be closed for school exams from 12 May to 23 June so the basketball games, leagues and coaching sessions won’t be running during this period.

If we’re unable to run matches on a particular date due to circumstances such as a sports hall closure then it will be shown here. If this happens then the league will be extended by a week, and if this isn’t possible then you’ll be given credit towards the next league or the pickup games on weekends.
